Artist's Comments

Huzzah! I finally have a working prototype for a phoenix! Yea! I've had a standing order for months, but I just couldn't get the pattern to work. It still needs some tweeking, but I'm pretty happy. I used felt for the prototype, and I CHEATED! using hot glue to attach many parts instead of sewing it like a good artist should. The ones I'll be selling will be of fur and feathers like the griffins. This one I will probably give to my niece for Yule. Her name is Phoenix. (yes, I am serious. Her sisters are Isis, Sakkara, and Nyla) Finding phoenix stuff is hard...

You make the legs separately and attach them using those teddy bear joint things, don't you?

All the pieces are separate and I join them usually by sewing. I cheated and used hot glue. Bear joints cost too much. He is wired thru the body and feet to make him posable.

I have to admit I don't really like the separate legs look, myself. But they're your designs, and, I imagine, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to attach the limbs that way than doing the whole animal as one piece. :D

I haven't figured out a pattern to make the body and feet one unit. sigh...
